The Hardy Plant Society

The Hardy Plant Society (HPS) is a charity that was formed to foster interest in hardy herbaceous plants on the widest possible scale.

The four founding members were Arthur Hellyer, Will Ingwersen, John Sambrook and Alan Bloom.

See The Hardy Plant website for all the information you will need.

I am fortunate in having three of my articles published in their journals.

My first Naturally Wild is about the wildness of Orchards. (Still waiting on the pdf).

My second, some ten years later, is about the plants I brought from Sussex to Italy and how they fared (or failed) in such different soil and climatic conditions.

My third (due out this spring) is about some of the flowers of Malta that I found growing on the top of Dingli Cliffs.
